Rugby Is More Than A Sport

For me, Rugby is more than just a game. Some of you may play the game, or you're an ex-player, you may be just a fan and enjoy going to the games and enjoying the rugby hospitality packages the teams and grounds have to offer and of course, the amazing environments at the games. A lot of you may not even like the sport.  Well, I'm a mixture of loving, playing, and watching.  Some of you may know that I'm a massive rugby fan and it plays a massive part in my family life too, me and my son almost do something rugby related about three-quarters of the week, if it's not me talking him to training or to his games, it's me either playing touch and pass with my teammates or watching live games when they are on TV. When I was a kid Rugby was my no1 sport until I be...

Should We Opt For An Electric Car?

Should We Opt For An Electric Car?

I'd say that for about the last ten years or so myself and the wife have always made sure we have bought a brand new car whenever the opportunity arises. The main reason for this is that after three or four years we always had the opportunity to trade it in for another new one.We realise that this may work out quite expensive but because we have had so many negative experiences buying second-hand cars when it comes down to having them MOT'd, not to mention all of the upkeep and seemingly endless maintenance costs they required due to their age - it just never seemed worth it. We are now going into the third year of having our current car and are really struggling with what to choose next. Over the years we have had a mixture of petrol and diesel cars and we've liked both for differe...

SixPad – My First Impressions

I think it's been a while since I posted anything tech-related on the blog and I've got so much planned tech-wise - introducing you to my gaming setup and the games I'm really enjoying playing etc - but I keep forgetting to stop and write the posts because I'm too busy "researching" for them by playing the games.   So I decided that in this blog post, I would talk about a piece of technology I have been using now for a few weeks and tell you a little bit about it and what my first thoughts of it are.   And this piece of technology isn't gaming-related at all.   But because I've decided that I really would love to be labeled as a "tech blogger" someday branching out into anything and everything "techy" is the way forward and over the next few months, I will be upping my game, gett...

Do I Still Dress Too Young?

Well, thank you for stopping by my blog again and if this is your first visit please feel free to check over some of my older posts. I know I haven't been the most consistent male blogger around lately but this is a little promise from me to you that I am back at it now and hopefully will be posting weekly - and if that goes well then maybe twice a week. So, what's been going on - well I've just turned 35... OMG...yes, in 5 years I will be 40. How depressing is that? I keep asking myself the same questions:  Will I have a midlife crisis soon? Will I have to start wearing a flat cap? Will I have to soon hand over my snapback collection to my son? And does my age mean that now my rugby career is over? Well, I say "career", what I actually mean is "the odd game that I participate ...

Valentines day surprise

So with me being with my wife now for about fourteen years and being married for coming up to six you'd think that by now we would of had our fair share of Valentine's Day surprises for each other, done some amazingly romantic things and lavished some fabulous gestures on each other. Well, you would be wrong. To be honest I can't actually remember the last time we spent even a portion of the day together, just the two of us. In one respect it would be amazing to have a little bit of "us" time to just go to the cinema or nip out for a meal but we have two (very amazing) reasons why we don't... Charlie who has been with us for eleven Valentine's Days and Willow who has been with us for fifteen months.  You see me and the wife know how much we love each other, we know that we have...

A Mercure Stay At Christmas

Is it just me or did Christmas fly past so fast this year? It literally seems like my house decorations were up for a day and back down the next (they weren't by they way, they were up for almost all of December actually). Christmas this year started on a massive high, which I will explain in a minute, but it ended on a massive low with a few emergency calls to the hospital when Willow became quite poorly and at one point I reallyvdid think I'd lost her when she was lying helplessly in my arms, and it has really knocked me for six and is going to take quite a while to get that image out of my head. I don't want to talk too much about those lows because our Christmas started great and we had a fun-packed family weekend just before Christmas when the lovely people over at Talented Ta...

You can not beat a Sunday roast

Growing up, no matter how many nights we all ate on our own due to clubs,  parents working late or hobbies, we always, always came together on a Sunday. We would all sit around the table, talking about the week...well mostly squabbling really...and would enjoy a huge Sunday roast. We also ate a lot of lovely food too which I'm sure is where my love Sunday dinner come from. It was brilliant - my favourite time of the week (I've always loved my food) And it is probobly why I'm such a big Sunday lunch fan now. I'm certainly the better chef in my household - my wife openly admits she hates cooking - and I've been known to produce some mammoth sized Yorkshires in the past. None of these pre-made, frozen ones on my watch thank you very much - it has got to be the real deal. ...

Help i’m eating all the food

I'd like to think I'm a really happy guy who is in a really happy place right now. Family life is good, work is kind of good at the moment and I'm still doing the odd blog post when I get time. Can't say fairer than that. I turned 34 a few months ago which kind of surprised a lot of my social media following because they actually thought I was a lot younger than I am. I obviously took this as a massive complement and to be totally honest I do agree with them, but not in a vain way, I just don't think I look too bad for my age. Plus I have a beard and that adds a few years on too. I always wonder how old people would think I am if I shaved it off...buts that's never going to happen. But I  know what you must thinking - things can't be all that good, there must something not...

Who’s ready for the Olympic games

Who's ready for the intense excitement of having forty two Olympic sport disciplines all in one place? There will be around 306 events taking place over 19 days of pure intense competition. And with 136 medals for the women, 161 medals for the men and nine mixed medals ups for grabs intense it is going to be.  Everything will kick off on the 5th August with the eagerly awaited opening ceremony, and then following will be the games which will be held in Rio this year, and you just know that evening will be packed with colour and excitement. I for one can not wait to see Team GB walk out, looking super proud of themselves, ready to put all of those days, months and years of hard work and training into action. I'm hoping Team GB can bring home a plane load of medals with them...
