Stress Free Business Cards

So today I would like to talk about my blog progression beacuse in a week or so I will be coming in to my tenth month of blogging.  WOW! That time has flown by, it really only seems like two minutes ago that I was sat down with the wife just talking about the possibility of me setting a blog up.  In all honesty it has been one of the highlights of 2015 for me, well , nothing will top finding out we are expecting our second child or my son being as awesome as ever, but it's definitely up there!  So it was January the first when I set up my email account and my blog and I haven't looked back since. I will be honest though, I've had my ups and downs with it, like not thinking my blog was good enough because I had a few knock backs from brand...

Non-Iron shirts from T.M.Lewin

Right, if I start this post by talking about ironing please don't stop reading, I promise it's going to get better...well I hope it is anyway. So who remembers that part of growing up when your parents always had a set ironing day - and when I say day I do actually mean a full day. Stacks and stacks of clothes on the kitchen units or the sofa, one by one each item gets ironed then either folded up or put onto a coat hanger, and then they were all put in separate piles for each family member to take. We had five people in my house...there was a lot of ironing...I can only imagine what it was like for anyone with a family bigger than five...  An actual launderette springs to mind. So you might think that seeing all of this would have helped embed the "ironing day" rule into me...

How do you cope under pressure

Pressure I can honestly say pressure isn't something that gets to me really - I'm not the type of person who finds themselves stressed out or on the edge of buckling under it anyway. And that's not to say that I don't experience it, I do quite often, especially with the job that I do. But I really do think I'm just too laid back and would much rather take everything in my stride than worry. As I said, with the type of job that I do I'm often always on the go - usually from very early in the morning to late in the evening. I have long, long drives to fit in and very often have to do a lot in a short space of time to make sure the demands from customers are met. Part of my role is to make sure I manage, instruct and teach some of our newer, less-experienced engineers, which often has t...

A right pain in the neck

Hey guys  About a month ago my personal training sessions came to an end and I was feeling fitter than ever. Being at the ripe old age of 33, keeping fit is a must really - especially with me having such a manual, physically draining job - I need to be in top physical condition to be able to put the hours of hard graft in that I do. But because I work for such an amazing company - it really is great - they also pay for me a gym membership at my local gym, which is conveniently located next door to our head office.  Obviously the bosses know that keeping their engineers as fit as possible makes the standard of work we put out a lot higher and also keeps a happy workforce. Win - win all round But that's not all - with us being in the middle of the six week holiday per...

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Hi everyone If you're a father like me then you will know what day is just around the corner.  Yep that's right Father's Day, the one day where I might get breakfast in bed, but due to me only just finishing decorating my bedroom - complete with new bed, bed covers and carpets - I don't think it will happen this year. But I'm not one to complain, I will settle for some crumpets and a nice cup of coffee at the kitchen table.  I've never been one for big presents on Father's Day and the best present is normally a lovely cute personalised card made by my son at school. He always adds a funny picture, normally of me, and I can not wait to see what my beard looks like on this one.  This will be the last time it will be a sole Father's Day card from ...

Exante diet

Hey guys  So who's on a health kick at the moment? I bet 90% of you put your hands up, but how many of you are finding it hard to stick to like me? I started blogging just after Christmas and did a post about getting healthy, you can find it (here) Well, I totally failed to keep it going and I don't know what happened, I was well up for it. At that time I was 14 1/2 stone, now I am just over 15 stone. So lately I have been trying to work out what went wrong and how can I change it. I got it down to a couple of things, I stopped playing rugby which meant I stopped training twice a week, I stopped going to the gym which I would do maybe two or three times a week. But one of my main problems was that I always skip breakfast due to me getting up really early for work....

Mayweather vs Pacquiao at the Grosvenor Casino

The words "Carl" and "Casino" are not words that have never been used in the same sentence before I don't think...well until a couple of weeks ago that is, when I was given an invite to Grosvenor Casino in Didsbury. But this wasn't to be any usual night in the casino - it was a night, at the casino, to watch The Big Fight Mayweather VS Pacquiao You would be right in thinking this sounds amazing, I did, but there were a couple of problems:  1: I don't really follow, or even like boxing 2: I've never been to a casino before 3: I don't live in Manchester But me being me I was right up for it, so I said yes! To be honest this was the first event I would go to where I knew male bloggers were going to out number the lady bloggers. I wonder why! So let me tel...

Comfort and style in one!

This was a post for April fools day Hi all  I hope your enjoying the Easter holidays. If you have read my earlier posts you will know I've always been on the lookout for smart clothes which are comfy at the same time.  I need to get out of the trap I am in at the moment where I spend all weekend wearing joggers.  Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with wearing your comfy clothes around the house but going out in them a lot especially at the ripe old age of 32 is a big no!  So I've made it my plan to smarten up my image but still keeping with my comfy lifestyle. So occasionally when I get a spare minute I browse the Internet for items of clothing which are smart but also comfy. I've found loads of tops, jackets, Tshirts an...

An Indian Treat from Rola Wala

It was Thursday the 12th of March and it was just another boring day at work for me I was cold, tired, and I just wanted to go home.  I had finished a job and was just going to start filling my paperwork out when my phone beeped. It was an email notification and across the front of my phone screen it said  "How do you eat you Indian" I thought to my self, great another survey! But as you do I opened it and had a read. And to my suprise it wasn't a survey. I was so happy to read the words - Have you every tried an Indian wrap? Well my answer is no but by the sound of it I bet it would be amazing. I love spicy food I think being born and bred in Bradford once named The Curry Capital of England, may have something to do with it.  You already know I wo...
