A Brief Post

I'm not going to lie, the title of this post may be a little misleading but no matter how I spin it, writing a post about what I wear to cover up my nuts is never going to be something I have practiced in or will be something I do often. And so thinking of a fitting title was quite a hard thing to do because the post subject was so different for me. Plus there was the fact that I just couldn't see myself being able to have a full post worth of opinions about them - I mean every pair I've owned throughout my life so far kind of does the same job. Of course, they may look a bit different, they may feel a little different and the quality of them will most likely range depending on the brand and the price of them. But at the end of the day underwear all do the same thing... Anyw...

Globenfeld Daytimer Mens Watch

I was browsing through Twitter the other day and I randomly stumbled over a tweet about Harry Styles and how he has managed to bring the whole men wearing two rings on one finger back into fashion and this got me thinking...why on earth do I hate wearing jewellery so much? I replied to the tweet with the statement that I wasn't a fan of wearing jewellery at all and I got quite a few responses stating that I'm by no means alone - and it wasn't just the guys who felt this way either. In fact, I hate it that much I don't even wear my wedding ring anymore - I think it lasted a few months if that - which my wife is actually fine with, by the way...I think. I've never been one to wear chains, bracelets or anything like that, I just don't see the attraction in it, and to be honest, I don...

Being A Fashion Blogger

I feel a need to begin this post by saying that it really is so hard for me to be a fashion blogger. I know my blog isn't solely "a fashion blog" and is more lifestyle if anything but fashion posts have always been by far my most popular posts and I'm pleased about this because, when I have the time and can be bothered, I'm a massive fan of fashion - even though I don't know too much about it. I mean of course I know the things that I like and I know a few different brands and the style that makes them unique but when it comes down to the nitty gritty of fashion I really haven't got a clue. When I see people tweeting about fashion week I just kind of switch off and look at the photos, but even then I don't really get it because to me, half of the time the outfits I see are...

Suits you sir

So it's that time of year again, the time where I start to get the odd invite here and there to attend a fabulous wedding or two...and whilst I'm not saying I'm Mr Popular or anything, I already have two invites lined up as it is. I'm really hoping that the weather on these special days will be something like what we have had over the past few weeks - it's been roasting hot hasn't it and yes, whilst I will hold my hands up and admit that there were a few times where I was one of the people having a "it's too warm to work" moan, on a wedding day the weather has simply got to be perfect hasn't it. Myself and Simone fell quite lucky really with the weather on our big day whilst we were up there in sunny Gretna. The sun was shining, the skies were blue but it wasn't too hot either - it w...

I Almost Quit Blogging

Have you ever felt that you're not good enough at something and the pressure to be better brings on so much stress that it almost brings you to quitting? Well this was me at the back end of 2016. When I started blogging it was a whole new world to me, writing for enjoyment was something I had never done before - ever, but for some reason I naturally took to it and by my own admission I did get quite popular and well known quite fast. But that seems so long ago now, yet it was only two and a half years ago. I know that people do still say that male bloggers are rare but back when I started we were kind of none existent, well not totally, maybe just there, hiding in the shadows a little bit. Nowadays though everywhere you look there is a new male blogger popp...

Me And Women’s Fashion

Before we had kids and actually had something of a social life, I like to think I was "involved" in woman's fashion quite a bit. We used to go out every weekend without fail and that meant Simone needed a brand new outfit every single weekend, sometimes two depending on how many times we were planning on going out - sometimes we were out Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday. God only knows how we used to manage it or even afford it but we certainly did it. I was kind of our weekend thing, Simone used to work at New Look back then and would sometimes finish at dinner time. I would head down into Bradford to meet her, we used to grab some lunch in the market cafe and then we would wander the shops over and over again and pick out her outfits. In th...

This Autumn Comfort Is Key For Me

I've been blogging for almost two years now and I don't think I've ever actually introduced you to the real me! And what I mean by that is away from my blog, who am I?  When I'm not writing about male grooming, fashion and family stuff, what is it that I do with my time? Well the answer to that is simple - I can be found sitting on my big arse chilling out watching TV or doing a bit of online gaming...obviously once the long days work have been done and the kids are sorted and in bed. But what else? Well when I'm not attending fashion events or taking outfit pictures, what kind of thing am I wearing? The answer is lazy, comfy clothes, usually with a snapback on my head so I don't have to do anything at all with my stupid thick, dark, curly hair. I wouldn't say I'm...

How Was Your 2016?

Well as we are slowly creeping towards the end of 2016 it's got me thinking a little bit. What has been a highlight of the year? What has been a learning experience?  If something could be changed, what would it be? Well for me, 2016 has been a strange year really, I wouldn't say it's been a rubbish year or the best year ever but it has been a year of change. One of the best things to happen this year has to be watching my beautiful little girl grow up into an amazing little Diva. She has only just turned one but she definitely runs the house already, and the bond, not only myself and my wife have with her but also watching how she and her older brother grow and adapt to each other is such a wonderful thing. She adores his every move and he is smitten with her - th...

Where Did Summer GO

I know what you're thinking... Who nicked Summer?  It only seems like two minutes ago that I was getting my garden all nice and ready for summer and getting really excited about spending a bit of family time relaxing in it.  Did I do much of that?...Nope.  I know we've had some really hot days but it hasn't been consistent enough for us to be able to do much at home especially considering that during the week of the UK's mini heatwave I was away at the East Coast having a really good time with my kiddies. And I was all prepared to take total advantage of our pretty, rural location and had loads of outfit shots planned but it just wasn't to be - we had a bit of an issue with our accommodation you see and had to cut our holiday short so outfits plans were pushed to...

Like father like son

Like father, like son: dressing for special occasions  I’m a big believer in letting my kids choose their own style and sense of self. What they wear and show to the outside world is hugely important to their development, will massively affect their confidence in later life, and I for one will always be supportive of whatever they want to do, be and wear.  It just so happens though that my son seems to have a very similar style to me! As I noted in a recent post on Father’s Day, we always go for comfort above anything else, and wear shorts wherever we can but when it comes to dressing up though, this can pose certain problems.  With it being summer and with more evenings out and parties on the horizon, I thought I’d write today’s post on dressing for those special...
